Our Team

Lucas Commercial Flooring is owned and operated by KC business owners, Dana and Joe Hetrick, who are passionate about flooring and dedicated to every detail of your project. Together, they’re closely involved in every project so your flooring looks amazing, matches your brand, and stands up to the demands of your industry.

Dana Hetrick

PRESIDENT

Dana Hetrick started in the flooring industry in 2002 and holds a BA in Interior Design from Park University. With 22 years of hands-on experience, she wears many hats at Lucas Commercial Flooring, but her passion lies in understanding customer needs and finding the right flooring solutions that create safer, healthier, and more comfortable work environments. Dana believes the flooring industry plays a vital role in improving how people work and live.

Beyond her problem-solving expertise—which she considers her greatest strength—Dana is deeply committed to the Kansas City business community. She serves as President of the local National Association of Women Business Owners-Kansas City, was named a 2023 Enterprising Woman through Enterprising Women Magazine, and serves on the Enterprising Women Magazine Board. In 2023, she was honored as a Woman of Impact nominee with the American Heart Association.

When she's not in the office, Dana spends time with her son Logan and their two dogs, Molly and Milo. She's also passionate about golf, crafting, baking, and cooking—and she'll never turn down chips and dip!

Joe Hetrick

General Manager

Joe joined Lucas Flooring in 2022 after 21 years in the construction business. His expertise in estimating and proposals helps customers understand exactly what they need and what it will cost. With deep knowledge of the overall construction process, Joe brings a valuable perspective to project planning and execution.

Beyond the office, Joe enjoys golf and fishing with his son. One of his proudest contributions to the team is staying ahead of material delivery and ship date challenges—a constant in the industry—to ensure customers get accurate installation and completion timelines.

Curtis Gregory

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Curtis brings 47 years of construction and flooring experience to his role as Account Manager at Lucas. His background includes years of installation work and account management, giving him a comprehensive understanding of both the craft and the customer relationship. Throughout his career, he's witnessed tremendous evolution in the flooring industry—particularly the advancement of LVT, which has made quality materials more accessible while improving durability and aesthetics.

Curtis credits his success to the knowledge he gained through the apprenticeship program and from the gifted craftsmen who shared their expertise along the way. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and camping—and he looks forward to Mexican food whenever possible.

Nattalie Grey

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Nattalie has been with Lucas Commercial Flooring since fall 2023 and officially joined the team full-time as Executive Assistant to Dana in 2025. Although she often works behind the scenes, her impact is everywhere—she's instrumental in keeping projects on track and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. Her background includes helping organize and modernize the company's project management process, implementing task management software and workflows that have made coordination seamless.

Nattalie brings strong efficiency and prioritization skills to everything she does, combined with a keen eye for improving processes. Outside the office, she loves being outdoors, tackling DIY home projects, and leisurely browsing HomeGoods for inspiration.

Mike Boyd

PROJECT MANAGER

Mike joined Lucas's office team after 20 years of hands-on flooring installation work, bringing 24 years of total experience in the trade (since 2002). His expertise spans every variety of flooring, and he's deeply knowledgeable about the newest installation techniques. Now serving as Project Manager and Field Supervisor, Mike is known for his ability to identify potential problems before they become bigger issues and his skill at finding practical solutions quickly.

What Mike is most proud of is his dependability—if he commits to handling something, he follows through. That trust is invaluable in a team environment. He's particularly enthusiastic about the evolution of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile (LVT), which he believes has changed the industry more than any other innovation in the past 20 years. When not at work, Mike enjoys golf, fishing, hunting, and playing video games with friends.

Pat Simon

WAREHOUSE MANAGER

Pat Simon is the ultimate go-to person at Lucas. With 21 years of construction experience, he manages warehouse organization and inventory to ensure customer orders are ready and in perfect condition. But Pat's role extends far beyond the warehouse—he's on the road delivering orders, picking up necessities from suppliers, and sometimes dropping off samples to keep projects moving forward.

Pat's key strength is logistics—coordinating the countless moving parts that keep projects on schedule. He's a proud father of three and enjoys working on cars in his spare time. When time allows, he loves golf and traveling.

Lucas Bousum

NAMESAKE AND MASCOT

Many inquire about the origin of the name Lucas Commercial Flooring. Many guess that it was a maiden name, a father's name, grandfather's name; however, the true inspiration for Lucas Commercial Flooring was Lucas Bousum. Lucas was a rescued pet from Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter (FOPAS) who loved his human so much, and whose human loved him so much, that they inspired each other to greatness.

In his spare time, Lucas enjoyed walks with his human and playing with a spiky green bouncy ball.

After a water pipe broke at my office, I emailed several commercial flooring companies in the Kansas City area. Dana contacted me within 24 hours of my first email. She was so friendly and knowledgeable that I didn't even bother trying to get any other quotes. My experience with Lucas Flooring has been amazing.

Opened in 2008, Lucas Commercial Flooring has been working with long-term customers to provide solutions to their flooring needs with multiple customers that have been partnering with us since opening day. Our goal is to create long-lasting partnerships by putting customer service first.
